Waiting time calculator for smartphones

With the help of theLittle's formulathe average waiting time E[W] in a service system can be calculated from the arrival rate λ and the average queue length E[Q]:

E[Q]=λ - E[W] or E[W]=E[Q] / λ

If the current queue length is entered into the formula instead of the average queue length and the number of arrivals in the last seconds or minutes is used instead of the arrival rate, this results in an estimate of the own waiting time:

Own waiting time ≈ queue length / (current arrival rate)

This calculation can be done using theWaiting time calculator for smartphonesand calculate an estimate of your own waiting time based on these simple input variables. All you need to use the waiting time calculator is a Javascript-enabled browser.
