Journey to Clausthal

Clausthal-Zellerfeldlies betweenGöttingenandBrunswickin the heart of Germany. The Institute of Mathematics is located directly in the city center of Clausthal, behind the former post office, only about a minute's walk from Kronenplatz or the Kronenplatz bus stop. Location of the institute within Clausthal

If you are coming into Clausthal-Zellerfeld from Osterode or Seesen in a south-westerly or north-westerly direction, you will reach a traffic light junction after a few hundred meters (from Osterode it is downhill at first, from Seesen it is uphill up to the traffic light). From here, Clausthal's main road, Adolph-Roemer-Straße, leads uphill to Kronenplatz. Take the paved road (Hindenburgplatz or Adolph-Roemer-Straße) in the direction of Zellerfeld (from Osteroder straight ahead, from Seesen turn left at the traffic lights). After a few 100 meters you will reach the junction at Kronenplatz, where you turn right into Erzstraße. After about 50 meters you will see the building of the Institute of Mathematics on your left. If you are entering Clausthal-Zellerfeld from Goslar in a north-easterly direction, drive through Zellerfeld. At the lowest point of the main road, turn right after a right-left bend, up the hill to Kronenplatz. There, turn left into Erzstraße. After about 50 meters you will see the building of the Institute of Mathematics on your left.

Institute building

The Institute of Mathematics is located at Erzstraße 1. The entrance to the building can be reached via the parking lot. The parking lot entrance is located at the upper end of the building, which served as a grammar school until the 1970s.historical photos. Please also note theroom planof the building.
