Research projects
Ongoing projects
- Multi scale simulation of microbial methanation in porous media
Sub-project of the joint project "Catalytic and microbial methanation as basis for sustainable energy storage"
- High-resolution simulation of denitrification
Sub-project of theDFGResearch Unit 2337 "Denitrification in Agricultural Soils: Integrated control and Modelling at various scales (DASIM)".
Improvement of the simulation of denitrification (the microbial conversion of nitrate to nitrous oxide or molecular nitrogen) by explicit representation of the multi-scale process with models on the pore and continuum scales. Creation of a prototype of a next-generation land surface model
Part of the project EXA-DUNE: Flexible PDE Solvers, Numerical Methods and Applications in theDFG-priority programSPP 1648-2 "Software for Exascale Computing"Application of the modern tools used in EXA-DUNE for the highly efficient simulation of the water and heat balance of the earth's surface, in particular the vadose zone.
