SaN - Schools on the Net

Schools on the Net is a joint initiative of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and Deutsche Telekom AG, which was launched on April 18, 1996. The initial aim of the initiative was to connect 10,000 schools to the worldwide network, the Internet, within three years. Deutsche Telekom AG provided DM 36 million and the BMBF DM 23 million for this purpose.

After "Schools on the Net" quickly became a success story, the two initiators increased their commitment with a further DM 100 million. DM 60 million was provided by Deutsche Telekom and a further DM 40 million by the BMBF. These funds are to be used from 1999 to connect all schools in Germany to the network in the coming years. Regional teacher training course at the Institute of Mathematics at TU Clausthal: Finding information on the Internet

The training course will take place on Wednesday, March 4, 1998, at the Institute of Mathematics of the TU Clausthal, Erzstaße 1. The aim of this course is to give an overview of the various possibilities of obtaining information on the Internet and to present the most important systems in more detail. Participants will have the opportunity to gain their own experience with all the tools presented in practical exercises.

No previous knowledge is required.
