spricht über das Thema: „Towards dissipative solutions of turbulent incompressible flows“
Abstract: There is some recent progress in the numerical analysis of turbulent incompressible Euler flows, see [1] which is currently restricted to low-order stabilized discontinuous Galerkin methods. Nevertheless, high-order discontinuous Galerkin methods have been succesfully applied, e.g., to the 3D Taylor-Green vortex, see [2]. It seems necessary to extend the analysis to higher-order methods which currently seems to be an open challenge of turbulent incompressible flows. Finally, we address the application of high-order discontinuous Galerkin methods to two-dimensional turbulent flow problems. In particular, we mention the approach in [3] to the self-organization resp. the inverse cascade of vortex flows.
