Vortrag von Robert Sauerborn (Clausthal) zum Thema „Dissipative Solution Concepts and their Application to Error Bounds for the Euler Equations“.

Abstract: Dissipative solution concepts are a powerful tool in the analysis of conservation laws. They obey a weak-strong uniqueness principle and can be constructed as the limit of sequences of consistent and stable approximations for various PDEs. In this talk, we illustrate this on the example of the barotropic Euler equations. As an application example, we derive a priori error estimates for semi-discrete FV Lax-Friedrichs approximations to an initial value problem, supposing existence of a strong solution.
