Operating characteristic curve and algorithm of Günther

In the illustration the operation characteristic LN,n,c(p) is displayed. The values for the size of deliveries N, the size of the sampling n and the maximum allowed number of defective parts in a sample c can be set up below the graph. Additionally one can define the distribution function, which is the operating characteristic curve is based on. Furthermore the acceptable quality level (p1-α,α) and the limiting quality (pβ,β) can be set up by the sliders below.

Target of the (n-c) sampling plan is to find an operation characteristic LN,n,c(p) by adjusting the values n and c that runs above (p1-α,α) and below (pβ,β) and has a as small as possible value for n.

Algorithm of Günther
We search a (n-c) sample plan, which fulfills the acceptable qualitiy level and the limiting quality and that has a as small as possible sample size.
Starting with n=1, c=0 the value of n will be increased until the limiting quality is hold. If the acceptable quality limit is also hold in this case, the algorithmus stops. In the other case c will be increased and the algorithmus will start again with n=c.
