Queueing calculator for smartphones

Using the Formula of Little the average waiting time E[W] in a queueing system can be calculated fomr the arrival rate λ and the average queue length E[Q]:

E[Q]=λ · E[W] bzw. E[W]=E[Q] / λ

Using the current length of the queue instead of the average queue lenth and using the actual arrivals in the last few seconds or minutes insteas of the arrival rate, one gets an prediction of the wait time:

Own waiting time ≈ Queue length / (current arrival rate)

This calculation can be done by the Waiting time calculator for smartphones (available in German only). The waiting time calculator can give you an prediction of your needed waiting time. To use the waiting time calculator all you need is a Javascript enabled browser.
